Multiple OS
What number of server Operating Systems can you select from?
Each personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, as well as any applications that are present on your system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, any application runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. If a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two independent Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, which means that you'll be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
In case you choose to purchase one of our
VPS server plans, you will be able to choose one of the three Linux releases that we supply for the Operating System of the servers - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're among the most widely used and most reliable server OSs on the market and we offer them in order to give you a choice for the software environment of your machine in case that you wish to install some app with particular requirements regarding the packages that must be present on the web hosting server. We also offer three web hosting Control Panels and which one of them you may use depends on the OS that you've selected. We leave the possibility to change the server Operating System open, so if you want to use software that requires an OS different from the one you already have, we can always re-install the VPS. We can also keep the OS up-to-date on a weekly basis by installing all of the security updates which may be available.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
The
dedicated server plans that we offer come with as many as three different Operating Systems to pick from. They are all Linux distributions - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license taxes, but they’re also regarded as the most dependable and risk-free OSs. We offer three different ones because each one of them is supported by a different community. The packages that you can add on your hosting server are different and this could matter in case you want to install some piece of software with specific requirements about the hosting environment. In this light, the hosting Control Panel that you can select for the dedicated server also depends on the OS that you will select. You can pick any of the three Operating Systems during the order process, but if needed, we can always set up the server anew with a different one upon your request. As an optional service that you could add to the package any time, we can update your OS on a regular basis so as to keep it as secure as possible.
